Carlos Gonzalez Fillad was appointed Regional Head of Payments and Cash Management for Latinamerica on February 2014. From this role, he is responsible for the transaction banking business with oversight of sales, distribution, client management and risk management for more than 80 products and services offered to large and middle-market corporate clients, financial institutions and government entities.

Carlos joined HSBC in 1996. After one year in Retail Banking and Wealth Management, he joined Global Banking from where he held a number of key roles, always focused in the creation and development of client relationships with a large number of local and multinationals clients, including a 4 year stint in Monterrey’s office. Developed extensive sector knowledge in different industries such as steel, retail, consumer, automotive, etc. and led a number of significant transactions including M&A, Project Finance, Debt and Equity Capital Markets, etc. Previous to his current role, he acted as Country Head of Multinationals for Global Banking, from where he was responsible for the creation and development of a business division mainly focused in banking multinationals clients.

Carlos holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the Universidad Iberoamericana and a MBA from the ITAM, and has a Credit Diploma from the Cambridge University. He enjoys sports, alpinism, reading, music and travelling. He is also an active member of Earthwatch.
